Introduction:

This site is a mixture of indulgence, conscience clearing and possibly, by chance, interesting ideas.

Why 'Logic Front to Back'?

The last couplet in the verse below appeals to me because the reversal of the normal usage of 'front to back' not only substantiates narrator's argument but is necessary to close the rhyme.  Besides, logic front to back is in accord with the general philosophy of this site.

A bloke 'e learns a lot uv things in six years wiv a tart;
But thrushes in the sassafras ain't singin' like me 'eart.
'Tis the thrushes 'oo 'ave tort me in their choonful sort o' way
That it's best to take things singin' as yeh meet 'em day be day.
Fer I wed a reel, live woman, wiv a woman's 'appy knack
Uv torkin' reason inside out an' logic front to back.

Why the New Zealand domain name?

Although any country related content is principally Australian this site has NZ as its country level domain name.  The explanation follows.

I heard the observation once that New Zealanders actually are what Australian like to believe themselves to be.  Australians dream that the national characteristic is a relaxed "she'll be right, mate" attitude and this laidback style marks them apart from say, citizens of the USA.  However true it may have been once, it is not true now, Australians (accepting the broad generalizations that are inevitably involved in this type of discussion) are uptight and very zealous of their possessions and wary of change.  The workings of Australian governments are opaque, Australia courts are very ready to issue suppression orders and the bureaucracy is impenetrable. I have, as one of team delivering training courses, worked with Australians and New Zealanders – the Kiwis were notably more easy going than the Aussies – less concerned about changes in session time-tabling and the like.

Each country has control of the allocation the relevant internet domain names, the .au domain names are managed by auDA, the .nz domain names are managed by the Domain Name Commission, DNC.  The auDA is very read-the-fine-print about the provision of domain names, the DNC is (consistent with the hypothesis in the preceding paragraph) much more relaxed.  There is considerably more bureaucracy involved in obtaining a domain name from auDA than from the DNC, especially if the applicant does not represent a structured entity and the purpose of the website is ill defined.  Hence I am using a NZ domain name.
